Rameshwer Shukla, Ph.D., is a Research Investigator at the Institute. He received his doctorate in Chemistry from Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, India (Kanpur University). He then started to work in supramolecular chemistry as a research associate at Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. Dr. Shukla was awarded a junior postdoctoral fellowship from the research council, Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium where he worked on the synthesis of photoactive dendrimers and Rotaxanes. In 1999 Dr. Shukla joined the group of Professor Bradley D. Smith at University of Notre Dame, Notre Dame, IN where he worked on various bioorganic and supramolecular chemistry projects.

Dr. Shukla joined the Institute in 2004 as research associate II and was promoted to faculty position in 2004. Dr. Shukla's research interests are in the areas of bioorganic chemistry, supramolecular chemistry and advanced drug delivery materials. He is currently involved in the synthesis of targeted drug delivery compounds for cancer therapy; specifically, the use of small molecules, peptides and antibodies as targeting groups for the delivery of drugs and radiopharmaceuticals to breast and prostate cancers.
